Heloniopsis orientalis

Japanese relative of our native swamp pink, hence, requires adequate moisture... but like most Asian plants, requires some degree of free draining soil. Growing from an evergreen rosette of long, narrow leaves it sends up in spring a bloom stalk that has lavender, pinkish blooms above the leaves. They may take a few years to settle in, similiar to say Diphylleia grayi, but well worth the wait. Zones 5-9
