Pinellia cordata

SOLD OUT
Bizarre, yeah, we like bizarre, and these relatives of Jack-in-the-pulpit are really cool. They are not big plants, even when mature and in clumps, kind of like Asarum proboscidium (Mouse Plant), they are tidy and low. But oh so different, and they don't end up everywhere like some Pinellia (pedatisecta... were talking about YOU!). These have wonderful arrowshaped leaves with pewter veins, and purple on the back of the leaves. The flowers are miniature Jacks in light yellow and green tones with super long tails jutting upwards. Amazing. They also form bulbils and propagate themselves. They are on the edge of zone 5 hardiness. If you mulch and/or have snow cover they will persist. Probably again, more to do with winter wet than anything. They are adorable thats all we know.
