Arisaema propinquum

A late flowering species with large glossy green leaves which cover the purple and white striped hoods (spathe). Bears a very similar appearence to Arisaema griffithii. At the edges of the hoods there is a white netting effect that gives the side edges of the hood a look all the world like a stained glass window. The end of the hood ends in a pointy beak and from inside the hood a whip like tongue just out, hanging down the front of the spathe. Best in a shaded site with humus rich soil. Best results will be achieved with mulching. Zone 6b-9
